Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri

For me, this year's fasting month flew by so fast. Seconds turn to minutes, minutes turn to hours, hours turn to day, days to turn to month and without realizing, today is the last day of Ramadhan and tomorrow, we'll be celebrating Aidilfitri.

In conjunction of Hari Raya, may I take the opportunity to wish all family and friends a Happy Hari Raya, maaf zahir and batin. Sekiranya ada silap dan salah, terkasar bahasa, minta ampun banyak-banyak dari hujung rambut ke hujung kaki. Maklumlah, saya ni seorang manusia biasa yang tak lepas dari kesalahan. My colleague / partner in crime / very good friend, Said Alkatiri and his wife, Zara, recently welcomed a Baby Boy to their lives namely Muhsin Alkatiri on 03/09/09. Congratulations!!!

Sick Boyfriend

My dear boyfriend had been sick for for the past few days... He felt the symptoms since Tuesday, after he picked me up from school. He told me that it could be due to the food that he ate during break fast. At first he was having sore throat, then turned to cough, then he got fever. When I broke fast at his house on Wed, his condition got worst. Friday was supposed to be his Shift 1, he still had yet to recover. He went to the polyclinic to see a doctor and he was given 3 days MC. All in all, he was sick for 5 days. While he was sick, he stayed at home to recuperate. I haven't met him but when he called me just now, he told me that he is feeling better. He still has the coughs though. I hope u will get fully well soon, Dearest!

Air Pistol Shooting

Recently, I got myself involved in air pistol shooting...

How I got myself into this?
Home Team Western Sector requires ladies to fill up the ladies categories in the Home Team Inter Sector Air Shooting Competition. So, Kak Kamisah called me and asked me whether I'm interested to join. Knowing Kak Kamisah, she always takes part in fun activities and so, I'm all up for it. She asked Ira to join also. Together with Ira, we went for the one day training shoot at Bukit Batok Home Team NS. It turns out to be fun. Even after shooting the 50 palettes, it felt that it wasn't enough for us.

After one day of training shoot, the competition day arrives, which was yesterday, 25 August 2009. It was a half-day event held at Bukit Batok Home Team NS. Home Team Southern Sector took all of the first place medals, except for Mens Open Speed Shooting. They really put in so much effort for the competition. I heard they conducted plenty of training. I guess they had to considering they are the event organizer.

Home Team Western Sector did not so bad after all. Despite most of us doing this for the very first time, we got at least third placing. The shocker was when I at least got to bring back home a bronze medal for the Womens Open Speed Shooting. It was a really a nice surprise for all of us in the category. We didn't expect to win anything.

Air pistol shooting is all about a game of patience, mind endurance and accuracy. When you're able to put in the palettes at your intended target, the sense of achievement is there. So, do give it a try... For me, try everything at least once.

It's a GIRL!

Halijah safely gave birth to a baby girl on 30th July 2009... Ira just sent me a MMS pic of the baby, she's so CUTE! She really looks like Halijah. Can't wait to see Halijah and the baby in person =)

Latest Updates

I realized that the last time that I had updated my blog was more than a month ago... Well, a lot had been going on lately. Work gets piling up and responsibilities are getting more and more especially when they're pumping in more manpower into the team. Means new peeps in the team. There's pros and cons to this. On the hind side, with more people, others can get to take and clear leaves. On the other side, there are a lot of things to impart on the newbies and they have a lot to learn. There's also "prawn behind the stone" direct translation of Malay "udang di sebalik batu", meaning there is an underlying meaning to this. Words are getting around that my workplace will be opening another resource. Till that day comes, let's enjoy the plenty of manpower that we're having at the moment.

School had also commenced. Another round of assignments datelines to meet. Lots of studying to do... I actually took up 5 modules this semester so that I'll be on track of completing the degree in 3 years. It's a lot of stuffs but with the support and love around me, it helps me to strive forward and push myself by thinking that I can do it...

Recently, I got in touch with my long-lost primary school friends like Syarifah, Ain, Juliana, Suzana and many more. Kudos, to Facebook. Some were surprised to know that Said and I got together. Well, God have His ways of putting two people together and play His game of fate. It's really a blessing in disguise for me of all that had been going on. I hope catching up with my primary school friends face-to-face is made possible one day. We're still in the interim of planning it.

Freedom Writers

A good movie to watch... I think the movie was aired some time ago. But I managed to catch the movie only today on cable TV coz we had all cable channels temporarily for free. It was shown on HBO Family. For those who have watched it, I'm sure u'll agree with me. For those who have not, a recommended movie to catch. No cable TV, get or rent the DVD... Enjoy!

Results are out

My exams results are out. Alhamdulillah... I passed all 3 papers, Management Accounting, Social Psychology and Cognitive Psychology. For a freshman in a degree course, I am satisfied with my results. All the efforts did pay off... Woohoo!

Sleepover @ Grandma's house

4 days ago, I spent the night @ my grandma's house. I was accompanying grandma coz my aunt's family was away on holiday to Bali for 4 days, 3 nights. Sis and I took turns to accompany her. The first 2 nights were by my sis coz I was working... and the last night was by me. Sis had something on for the last night anyway. Kinda miz sis actually for all 3 nights...

My grandma required us to accompany her for the night only. During the day, she's fine being alone. My aunt had her neighbors to check on her also. Grandma is really an inspiration to me. She had been thru a lot but, she still stays strong and move on with life. Watching her sew and telling me that her mind is at her utmost ease when she's on her sewing machine, makes me smile together with her. It makes me happy to know that she's happy.

Love u lots, grandma... Every moments spent with you shall be cherish. Life is short, embrace it while you still can. Especially with your love ones.

IPPT

Completed my IPPT yesterday and the after effect... today, I have an aching body, especially my thigh area. The 2.4 km run was the killer. The weather was super hot. I almost feel like giving up at the fourth round. Gd thing, Salleh was pacing me... Like as though he was able to read my mind, hehe. I continued on... kept on thinking. just get it over and done with. Well, it all paid off. I got silver... That's it, I'm satisfied with the result. No more IPPT till next year.

Weekend Off

It's hard to get the weekend off when one is working shift... Last weekend, was my weekend off. Finally... On Sat, I got back home from night shift, changed and immediately leave home again to attend Art's sister's wedding. Initially, when I arrived at the wedding, I was fine... But when the time flies, I can feel the tiredness and I was like a zombie. My eyes were giving way... I wish I was able to stay longer coz I was with a bunch of luvly peeps, Noraini, Fizah, Sab and Art. But, I had to excuse myself early coz I need to get myself some sleep. As soon as I reached home, I immediately dozed off. I spent the rest of the Sat at home, recuperating myself from a bz night shift. 

Sunday was the day that I finally met up with Said. We attended one wedding, which was his friend's sister's wedding. After that, we went out to Orchard for some window shopping and watched a movie - Night at the Museum II, at Lido. It had been a while since I last catch a movie at Lido. A really antique place... The space between my seat and the person in front of me was so near, I was afraid that I might juz kick her head. Lucky that did not happen... =) A good movie to watch if you wanna have a good laugh. After the movie, we headed back home. Not able stay till so late coz I'm working the next day. Furthermore, we were on public... I do enjoy the short time that I spent with Said though. Can't wait for the next time to see him... In 3 days time I hope. 

Missing XoXo peeps, NO MORE

Now that exams are over and school holiday had begun, my focus had changed. I got back to work and my workloads are all piling up. I had to clear them all bit by bit... Gd thing I still managed to cope. On the hind side, getting back to work allows me to meet my teammate and colleagues. Although some of them can be a P.I.T.A who likes to irritate me, they are still bunch of people that I missed during my study leave. 

Recently, we had the promotion ceremony... I was involved in it coz my division was the organizer this year. The team that I worked with was great fun. Except for Aisah, it was the first time that I worked with the rest of the members. I had no problem working with them and we bonded well. It was obvious that we were the closest as compared to other teams. Being involved in the promotion ceremony, gave me the first-hand information on who got promoted this year. 3 of my squadmates, Keith, Ah Boon and Ah Huat, got promoted. There were also colleagues and friends from other division and department... It was really nice to catch up with them and CONGRATULATIONS to all!

Fortunately, Nini flew back to Singapore when my exams were over. Feefee, Art, Nini, Noraini and I got together... I had missed them so dearly and being able to meet them again was a relief. I had not met them for about a month and it seems that I had missed out a lot already. I found out that they were talking behind my back! Till now, I do not know what it is. It's alright though, I understand... it was all in the name of fun and laughter.

I made a point today that I must meet up with my grandfather and grandmother. Grandfather seems to be unwell. It breaks my heart to see his condition. But I have to keep a strong front... I really hope that he'll get better. Grandmother is fine... 

As for bf, it is still hard for me to meet him. With the current deployment, our shifts overlapped. My off days will be his working day and my working days will be his off days. But, as much as possible, we still find time to talk on the phone everyday and meet up on the limited times we had. These minor things actually got us even more closer and understand each other better =).

I am really glad that I finally had the time to catch up with the people that I missed. 

It's finally OVER

My last paper ended yesterday... I have to admit it was not an easy process for me. Memorizing notes, practicing steps and procedures... phew, mind blowing. It's all worth it though coz I was able to do the papers. Hopefully, alls went well and I will pass my papers. 

Gotto back to work now and catch up with people that I miss so dearly. Wait for me... I'm coming.

That cud have been Me

I discovered one photo album in Facebook that someone is really moving on with his life. It seems that his family had finally accepted his girlfriend. A good family time together... Glad for all of them for they had moved on with life happily. 

Browsing thru the album made me feel that the girl in the picture cud have been me. I am grateful that it wasn't. His family is fine... I enjoyed the times that I had spent with them. It's juz that when I reminisce of what had happened, I cud have miss out other better things in life. The things that I get to do now... Studying, going on holidays, spending more time with my family and friends, being close to my sister and so on... Things that I dun have the opportunity to do before. For that, I wanna say thank u soooo much for the things he had done towards me. I do not condone what he had done but I believe everything happened for a reason. 

Adding on to another note... it is unacceptable for anyone to pass bad remarks about people in blue who ensure the safety and security of our country. No one can ever understand the things these people go through during their tour of duty. Unless, u're really one of them, u're the family members and loved ones of anyone of them.. then, u'll know what and how does it feels like being people in blue. It is a noble career... helping others is what they do. So, please... if u have nothing good to say, keep the comments to urself... That's better.
